Wow.

This was the first con my friends Linda, and I decided to sell our art and boy was it full of stress and awesome at the same time. I didn't actually see any panels or screenings (OR TAKE ANY PHOTOS ;A; ) but my friends made the con all the worth while.

Friday
I went over to my friend Adele's place at 1:30 to start making pins. The original plan was to make them on Saturday but I was determined to take advantage of the selling time across the weekend as much as possible.

...I was still making pins at the con around 8pm.

My table was the temporary "cosplay HELLLLPPPP" station as I realized all my friends were coming over for touch-ups and fix-ups (mostly my boyfriend and ) and to avoid stalkers.

I was never so exhausted and stressed before.

Total pins made: 466 (I screwed up a few)

The line-up, everyone I know agreed, was ridiculous. My friends were waiting in the "special line" for artists for nearly 2 hours before I arrived, when we waited another hour. They only started putting in line dividers and doing some crowd control when I got there :/ It was super hot and gross and I hope they change that next year (Thursday pre-reg please)

Stayed at the con until midnight or something? Was at the table making sure everything was okay and that things were selling :/

Saturday
I was dressed as a High Priestess from Ragnarok Online most of the day and switched to Estelle for the Tales photoshoot. Hilarious thing was that comes to pick me up to get changed for the photoshoot. She was the best and cutest Presea ever. Anyways, we arrive at the location and wonder where everyone was. After waiting around a bit and then asking another Tales cosplayer, she checks her phone...

...and realizes it was an hour early.

Hahahaha, I was so relieved we didn't miss anything! We return to our tables for a bit and then head back to the shoot. Which started half an hour late. She left early and I left shortly after since my bf, and wanted me to get back into the RO cosplay and take some pictures.

BTW, the Karol at the Tales photoshoot had the scariest impaled head on a stick ever. It was lovely and scary at the same time. I've never been so confused! xD

Also got kidnapped by an awesome Schwann XD lifted me in the air as I flailed helplessly~ I also got a pic with a really cute Judith <3 I was envious of her boobs D:

More table time, skipped the masquerade (I didn't miss much?) and a bunch of photos at the little photoshoot area with the drapes. Feet were killing me but I had to leap in the air in a Jean Grey pose and I hope the pictures turn out okay :/ My boyfriend was doing a SinX, a Lord Knight and a Scholar. I think she totally stole the show with her hotness. Or that dead fox. Either way! FUR AND LEGS! Insta-sexy!

We all gathered at the terrace at the Palais to watch the fireworks. They weren't amazing and it was some really mushy love theme but it was cute. We also ran into a cute High Priestess (fuck yeah!) and a Champion and had some photos taken.

We went home around 1am and had McD's. I was pretty grossed out but after spending the day not eating anything, it was *~heaven~*

Sunday
Persona 4 photoshoot got rescheduled from 11am to 1:30p.m. was taking charge again while snapping photos like mad with and a few other people. I hope they turned out okay. I met some very cute Chie and Rise cosplayers from Granby; they were really sweet and were apparently taking part of the dance competiton (WHICH I MISSED jesus I suck).

It was pouring like mad but we found an excellent place that kept us dry but kept the backdrop of rain. I was dressed as Yukiko, my bf as Souji, Dara as Naoto, Kris as Kanji, Adele as GAS ATTENDANT, Linda as Shadow!Naoto, and Kelvin as Brosuke. It was supposed to be a private shoot since we were restricted in time but became a bit more bigger and public than I thought (thanks Linda).

Started selling all the pins at a discount price after. I think we might've made the most sales that day though I'm not sure. I should've kept track of the pins but it was the last thing on my mind.

We did make a profit though; something around 200 dollars split between two of us. Not bad for a first con!

We met some fellow Monster Hunters near the end of the con dressed up as Organization XIII people Afterwards, I helped for her Amatski mini-photoshoot but the rain just started pouring.

But guys, seriously? AMATSUKI? Friggin awesome!

We left around 7pm after a little cool down.


Lessons Learned
- make a combined display for our pins. noticed that her pins started selling more when she put them on my cork board. We realized people would not pay attention to her pins were displayed separately.

- bring a smaller cash box and less change. My god, that thing was a friggin cement weight. It was broken too!

- bring drinks to hydrate and a mirror. I look like shit in all the photos I see hahaha. Maybe also an emergency cosplay kit too since my Boo purse acted like a good wig kit xD



Thing I Wanted to Do
- talk to my neighbours ;A; I always hear about people's great experiences making friends with fellow artists but I sadly didn't have the energy too (and a bit on the shy side)

- Buy something from the Dealer's Room

- take some photos orz

- ask to take some photos orz

- hang out more with Cinthia and Marie-Soleil

- see Johnny Yong Bosch again. He was such a sweetie last time!
